The commission takes inspiration from the exhibits within the Hackett Barn Museum, which houses an amazing collection of objects relating to the rural local community and Alfords agricultural heritage, and specifically its collection of corn dollys.
The very traditional and familiar form of a corn dolly will be reinterpreted in stainless steel, to create a contemporary large scale sculptural feature within the garden that visitors can walk into, sit within, and engage with at a physical level. The commission will be a permanent garden feature. More information and images to follow as the project develops.

This commission is part of museumaker, a national partnership between makers, museums and visitors involving 16 museums across the country. Creating inspiring new commissions by outstanding contemporary makers and leading to compelling visitor experiences.

For more information about this commission, including press information please contact us

Visit the Alford Manor House website here
More information about museumaker will be available on their soon to be launched website.

BACK

 var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ?
